London Block
London Block Co Ltd is coming to Kent
Plans have been submitted to build a new concrete block production facility at Ridham Docks in Kent. The facility should be on line in 2009.
The facility will be capable of producing over 10000 blocks per day.
LBC dense concrete will comply with BS EN 771-3:2003 and will be manufactured from Class 1 aggregates providing a standard open textured finish, ideal for plastering and rendering. The blocks will be available in solid and hollow formats.
LBC Dense concrete is a versatile concrete block and can be used in virtually any part of a building project, above and below ground. They are particularly suited for use in partitions and party walls. To comply with party wall regulations, they can be specified across the broad range of Robust Details for walls and floors. They are also ideal for use in block and beam flooring and load-bearing applications. Their high pull-out strengths make them particularly suited for use in office and industrial applications.
Plans to produce a light weight concrete block using FBA (furnace Bottom Ash) recycled from coal fired power stations are being drawn up.
The Facility
The blocks will be produced externally using an “Egg Layer” this process is widely used in Europe and is very efficient.
The egglayer FBH 1200 (H) is a mobile fully automatic high-performance machine which is used in the efficient manufacture of hollow, solid, insulation, ceiling and chimney blocks as well as border tiles and kerbstones without face concrete.
The mould is set down on a concrete plate and the humid, compressed product is left in place after it is decorticated. The machine then automatically continues and places the mould in position for the next production cycle.
